Shortly after the release of Viveza for Lightroom, Nik has now released Color Efex 3 for Lightroom. In much the same way that Viveza for Lightroom works, Color Efex is accessed by picking a photo and going to the Photo menu and choosing edit in Nik Color Efex Pro 3.

This opens up the stand alone version of Color Efex Pro 3.

All the settings are the same as the Photoshop plug-in version of the program but once again, since layers are not supported in Lightroom, any fades or opacity changes need to be made while in Color Efex.

After the image is saved, it is right there in lightroom next to the original.

I know that the rest of the Nik Software family is due to be updated with lightroom support. I am looking forward to when Silver Efex is released.

The update is free to all users of Nik Color Efex Pro 3.0 at Nik Software.
