Sunday in Los Angeles was the American Music Awards and the MLS finals, both taking place at the LA Live area. I was there but not for those events, instead I was photographing The Devil Wears Prada at the Club Nokia. This show was a blast to shoot. The band looked like they were having a great time and the audience was loving every minute of it. As a photographer, this shoot had a couple of things keeping in interesting. First off, there were a quite a few photographers in the pit so moving around easily was not going to happen. Second was the big security presence and by that I mean both the number of security in the pit and the sheer size of some of the guys. There was a good reason for this; there were a ton of crowd surfing fans coming over the barrier. Many times at shows with this many people flying in to the photo pit the security will kick the photographers out after a song or two. I was happy that the security allowed us the full three songs since the third element that kept me on my toes was the fast lights and faster movement of the band. These guys don’t stop at all, ever.
I goal was to capture the feel of the show and I am pretty happy with the results.

Awesome pics, I have been learning to shoot concert photos, and would love to know your camera lens, and settings.
