Last night I got to photograph Tesla as they opened for the Scorpions “Last Sting” tour. They were great. Big lights, big guitars, big hair, great vocals and a solid performance that was a joy to shoot and listen to.
I have been listening to Telsa for quite some time and I remember clearly the very first time I heard them. I was driving to a club with my friend Ron. Ron was the drummer for a local band that was playing that night and as we drove from Ashland to Jacksonville (Oregon) he popped this new cassette in to the stereo. He told me that I would like this band even though I was a deadhead.
He was right.
And last night, when Tesla performed “Signs” I was instantly transported back to the cab of my truck hearing the song for the first time. Thanks Ron.
