Steve Winwood wrapped up his tour and immediately jumped back out on the road in support of Tom Petty and The Hearkbreakers. If you are going to see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on this tour, make sure you get there on time to catch the 60 minutes of classic tunes from Steve Winwood. This was my second time shooting Steve Winwood this summer and this time around he spent the first two behind the piano, then stepped out and picked up a guitar.
Steve started out at the piano. the lighting was subdued and low. Then the band kicked in, the lighting jacked up a notch and one of the most talented musicians on the planet took the audience on an hour long musical voyage.
Steve Winwood has one of those musical histories that just doesn’t seem real. A member of Spencer Davis Group, Traffic, and Blind Faith, as well as a great solo career with two Billboard #1 hits. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame back in 2004 as a member of Traffic.
With this being the second time I shot Steve this summer, I really hoped he would get up from behind the piano and play a little guitar. My wish was granted for the third (and final) song we would be shooting.
