Steve Taylor is playing every Wednesday in June at the The Mint in Los Angeles. Every week he has a different set of musicians playing with him. This last Wednesday, a couple of those musicians were my friends Mark Karan and JT Thomas so I headed up to LA to catch the show and hangout with my friends.

Musically, it was a really fun show for me. The perfect mix of tunes I knew every word to and some I have never heard before. As an added bonus I was able to be there for the full sound check which consisted of the guys fine tuning some of the songs since this group of guys had never all played together before. It is always amazing to watch real professionals work. They all knew the tunes, they all listened to each other and they paid attention to not only their parts but all the parts and the end result was some seriously kick ass tunes.

Now, the Mint is not the greatest place to shoot a show, but I did manage to get some shots I liked of Steve, Mark and the guys. The photos were taken with the Nikon D4 and the Nikon D5200.

For those of you who don’t know who Steve Taylor is, you need to check out his website and give this guy a listen. He is one seriously talented guy. http://stevetaylormusic.com  As for my buddy Mark, you can find out all about him at http://www.walkthroughthefire.com, as for the other musicians, the bass duties were taken by 5 Track, on drums was Richard Gowan and backing vocals Molly Tuttle. Then there was JT Thomas on the piano (and the Hammond once in a while) JT is probably best known as one of the Noisemakers, as in Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers.
