A big thanks to Scott Kelby over at Photoshop Insider for the plug about my PhotoshopWorld pre conference. You can read about it here: Concert Photography at Photoshop World
I promise it will be fun. We will talk about gear, restrictions, settings and even how to go about getting that official photo pass. We are also going to be shooting some actual live musicians. More on that soon.

A quick note on the comments left on Scotts Blog:
I know it shouldn’t get to me, but when someone who doesn’t know much about concert photography throws out a comment that all you need is a certain camera a couple of lenses and an auto setting to cover concerts, I get a little pissed.
I went and looked at the website of the person who left the comment and it was his Flickr stream. Some great architectural photography but a total of 7 music photos. 7 concert photos.
If I thought that people couldn’t get something out of my class I wouldn’t teach it.
Hey Alan!
Don’t let it “bug ya!” There are always a few….
Your willingness to share your knowledge is really appreciated. Your post on Kelby’s blog was great last year and really helped me. I have gone back and re-read it a few times. I have taken shots at concerts for my own personal pleasure. I wish I could do it more.
I will not be attending Photoshop World but I bet your seesion will be well attended.
JD
Thanks for the kind words
Alan
