I really love my job, but there are some days I love it even more. Getting to photograph Cirque du Soleil performances is a highlight of my year. Over the years I have been lucky enough to photograph the Cirque du Soleil when they perform at the Valley View Casino Center, and even luckier to now be friends with local aerialists here in San Diego. I owe a great deal to Joe McNally, he has been a sources of inspiration and knowledge for many years. He also introduced me the Jennifer Curry Wingrove, a dancer and aerialist who I have had the distinct pleasure of photographing many times since. Being able to photograph Jennifer and her talented friends has made it so much easier to shoot the Cirque show and it has taught me what to look for. So here are my favorite photos from the show. All the photos were shot with the Nikon D750 and D4 using the 70-200mm f/2.8 Nikkor lens and the 24-70mm f/2.8 Nikkor lens.
