This was just sent to me by a good friend and photographer in the Bay area. http://submit.nytimes.com/the-dead-live-on?hp April 2, 2009
The Dead Live On The Dead are reuniting for a tour beginning on April 12. Have you ever been to a Grateful Dead concert? NYTimes.com wants to publish your photographs from past concerts in a readers’ album.
The small print:

This is a horrible business practice and it is a shame seeing the New York Times engage in such rights grab. I have a great many photos taken at Grateful Dead shows and will actually be shooting a few of the shows on the upcoming tour but I own the photos and I am not about to give those rights to the New York Times especially since they can then turn around and license those images to other companies with out giving the photographer any money at all.
