People either love or hate him. No matter which way you feel, Justin Bieber puts on a great show for his fans. Those crazy, screaming fans. This current Believe Tour kicked off in San Diego on June 22, at the Valley View Casino Center and I was there to capture it for the venue. The shooting position was really odd, we were positioned off to stage left (house right) in the aisle. So not a pit shoot and not a soundboard. Actually not a bad shooting spot and Bieber did work the whole stage.
I used 2 camera bodies, the Nikon D4 with the 400mm f/2.8 and the Nikon D700 with the 24-70mm f/2.8 and the 70-200mm f/2.8. This worked really well, especially when Justin spent the third song on the back of the stage.
One of the more impressing things about the first three songs was the entrance that Justin made attached to a pair of huge musically inspired wings. these things were really cool.
The stage also had a huge walkway that came out nearly to the soundboard which allowed Justin to walk/stalk his way up and down in the middle of the the crowd.
It was a huge stage and a massive production.
All in all, love him or hate him, Justin Bieber puts on a great show for his fans. (Now if only he would start on time)
