Jimmy Cliff – Concert shoot

It is always amazing to photograph a living legend. Jimmy Cliff was one of those shoots. My previous opportunity to photograph Jimmy was an acoustic show at the Belly Up Tavern (photos are HERE) and I was looking forward to the full electric version of his songs.

I was not disappointed.

In short, Jimmy absolutely killed it. Amazing energy on stage.

As far as the actual photography went, there are a few challenges shooting at the venue. The stage is tall, over 6′ and due to the layout, it is a little dark right up front. This was my 4th show at this stage and I feel like I am getting better at picking the right angles right out of the gate.

All images captured using Nikon D4 and D700 cameras and 24-70mm f/2.8 and 70-200mm f/2.8 lenses
