Imagine Dragons, the hugely popular band from Las Vegas played a sold out show at the Valley View Casino Center on February 15, 2014. It was an interesting shoot and while I am happy with the images, there were moments of real frustration. The LED lighting was tough to get right color wise and some of the less experienced photographers camping out at the end of the stage made it tough to get a full stage shot.
There was tons of light and lots of action. With lead singer Dan Reynolds spending a ton of time out on the front part of the stage there were ample opportunities to capture him farm a variety of angles. I used the 24-70mm and the 16mm fisheye for the wide shots. The rest of the time I used the 70-200mm. All photos were taken with the Nikon D4 and Nikon D700.
The stage was set up with a large round screen in the center and two wings that jutted out from each side giving the people with tickets on the side an opportunity to get up close with the band.
