There are some bands that are just really fun to shoot. GroupLove is one of those bands. I shot them for the first time this summer and when I saw that they were coming back to San Diego I jumped at the chance to photograph them again. Once again, it was a great show to shoot, not easy, but fun.

What makes GroupLove so much fun to shoot and rather difficult to shoot at the same time is that they really bounce around the stage. When you combine the fast movement of the band with the fast-moving lights you get a very difficult exposure situation.

There were also lights on the front of the stage pointing up at their faces. That’s a tough light to make look good.

I really recommend that you see this band if you get the chance. They really do put on a good show… And their songs really are very catchy. I found myself singing along with a song that I had only heard once before.
