On Saturday July 10, the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival kicked off in San Bernardino and I was there to photograph the whole thing. Billed as the the Hardest Show on Earth it didn’t disappoint. This post is about Five Finger Death Punch, the first of four band that played on the main stage.

I love kung fu movies… and so do these guys, since they named the band is honor of them. The band was formed in 2005 and consists of

• Motograter and Ghost Machine vocalist Ivan Moody
• U.P.O.guitarist Zoltan Bathory
• Anubis Rising and Deadsett bassist Matt Snell
• W.A.S.P. drummer Jeremy Spencer
• Alice Cooper guitarist Jason Hook

The pit was crowded with 50+ credentialed photographers, two video cameras for the venue screens and a ton of security. I worked my usual pattern from one side of the stage to the other making sure I got each member of the band. The only problem was the drummer who plays inside a huge cage surrounded by weapons. It would have been great to get more shots of him but it just didn’t happen.

All in all, a fun set by an energetic band. Very energetic band.
