Back in 2015 I photographed the amazing Astraeus Aerial Dance Theatre perform Save My Soul as part of the San Diego Fringe Festival 2015 (you can see the photos Here). Then again in 2016 when they presented Mythos as part of San Diego Fringe Festival 2016 (you can see those photos here). The Astraeus Aerial Dance Theatre is the winner of SD Fringe’s “Best Of Fringe” 2015, “Best World Premier” in 2016, and Great Salt Lake Fringe’s “Best of Fringe” 2016. .This year Astraeus is presenting “Echoes of Gallows Hill” and they could use your help. First, let me tell you what these amazing performers are doing this time around:
“This year, Astraeus celebrates Women. In our newest work, “Echoes of Gallows Hill”, an award-winning all-female cast of professional aerialists and dancers use the lens of the Salem witch trials to tell a cautionary tale of what happens when women are held back and devalued in society. Astraeus Aerial Dance Theatre is partnering with The Center For Community Solutions during this performance to raise funds to help victims of domestic violence in San Diego. To make this project a success, we need to cover the initial production costs which include theater rental, costumes, sets, marketing, and dancer compensation. Presenting this poignant production about the importance of empowering Women are Laura Dasi, Jennifer Curry Wingrove, Kioan Daelyn, Cecilia Marie, Zoe , and Molly Alghussain. Directed by Jennifer Curry Wingrove.”
So here is where you can help. Astraues needs your help to make this a success as they need to cover the initial production costs which include theater rental, costumes, sets, marketing, and dancer compensation. There is a gofundme page HERE where you can show your support. Every little bit helps.
Now more than ever, artists must receive support from the community and individuals. Your donations make this important work possible.
It was an honor to shoot and composite the images for this show. Look for more very soon.
